[Rock-dev] Rock Dev Video Chat

Hi,

It seems that the subject of releases of our beloved Rock creates a lot of -
let's say passionate - discussions.
Let's not let that get in the way of getting the most practical technical
solution ready.

As announced in one of the previous emails, we want to get regular video
chats going.
To find the date for our first try, I opened a doodle:

http://doodle.com/ixgdtm6mchn35kyn

The times are meant to be CET (unless doodle does a conversion?).

Agenda point proposals:
- the way we communicate about rock development
- releases / branches / tooling

I have a feeling we will have enough to do with this :)

Cheers,

Jakob

Hi,

as Jakob already mentioned I had a look at the DFN conferencing system.
We can let our ISG set up a conferencing room where all of us can
connect to. Since the currently preferred time in the doodle is Do 23,
15:00 (CET), I would suggest to set up a video conference room for this
date. Eventually for a technical check we can set up a conference before
just to make sure that everyone technically can connect to. So far I
would include everybody who will have signed to the doodle a day before.

One issue is, that this thing works with the adobe flash player, which
is officially no longer supported under Linux in its actual version. But
for those of us where the old version does not work properly, there is
the possibility of using googles Chrome browser which has its own Linux
port for the flash player (updated version).

Elmar

October 23. 15:00 CET it is then.

AFAK you can setup the room a day before, and let everyone try the system on
their own time.
No point in having a conference before the conference :)

Cheers,

Jakob

Actually that was what I had in mind with "setting up a conference", not
a conference itself but the conference room.
Maybe it was just formulated a bit deceptively.
